Horse Chestnut … a seed with healing properties

The horse chestnut, which belongs to the Hippocastanaceae family, is a deciduous tree that can live as long as 200 years. The horse chestnut is common and well-known in Europe due to the culture. The drug is made up of the dried seeds of the horse chestnut and is used in cases of chronic venous insufficiency with swelling of the leg, varicose veins, pain or a feeling of heaviness in the legs, as well as external itching or cramping in the calf.
