Purple coneflower ... a potent herb
Echinacea purpurea is originally native to North America, although this perennial plant is now cultivated all over the world. It is very popular as an ornamental plant in gardens as it has pretty, striking flowers.
The drug is made up of fresh aboveground plant parts harvested at the time of flowering.
At Anklam Extrakt®, the freshly pressed juice is used for production. Traditionally, the fresh plant preparation can be taken internally for short-term prevention or treatment of colds. The preparations can be applied externally in the case of small or superficial wounds.
